Go Insane, Go Insane…

I have no glitter to throw and no money to make it rain…

My spirits are somehow still intact though, so that’s something. My little friends that I mentioned in the last post, I want to talk about them today. Roaches 💀💀💀

It’s been a month since treatment has begun on our apartment, and the fogging we received yesterday was by far the most effective.

I chose my least disturbing photo. 😂

Heads up kids, those aren’t chocolate chips that I spilt on the floor. 😭

I was refraining from sharing anything about this because it makes me feel like we’re dirty people. The reality of the situation is that we had a disgusting upstairs neighbor and their neglect is now punishing the rest of us. Welcome to apartment life.

So my question to everyone is, have you dealt with unwanted pests before? Did it take months of work? Is there an at home treatment that we could be doing to move the process along?

Kevin and I are tied to our apartment until December, so any advice is appreciated. Love y’all!!

Life is Good

Things have been insane lately. I have had a crazy couple of weeks at the apartment, let’s just say we’ve been dealing with some extra “friends” and leave it at that.

So obviously I needed a break, and today I got a really good one. I don’t care that I’m 28 years old, sometimes you just need a Mother/Daughter date.

Our morning started off with donuts from Paradise Donuts. Mine came with a gummy worm. 🍩

Then we headed downtown to Washington Park for some string art fun, hosted by Guilded. It was my first time doing string art, I’m probably going to redo mine and change the string color. The goldenrod just doesn’t really pop.

We also played in the fountains and searches for Pokemon, because my mom is cool like that.

How did you spend your weekend? Tell me all about it in the comments. 😀

Long Weekends

Are the best weekends…

Despite an extremely rainy 4th of July, the long weekend was pretty fun. The extra time with the Husband was most definitely appreciated. I feel like I don’t get enough time with him these days.

I’m a little disappointed in myself for not capturing my weekend to share with you guys. I had every intention too, it just didn’t really work out. The bulk of it was spent baking with my niece. She baked her very first pie, while not very pretty, it tasted alright. Kinda like a strawberry poptart. That’s a pie that I can get behind! We also baked sugar cookies, vanilla cake pops, angel food cake cupcakes, chocolate covered strawberries and homemade birthday cake ice cream. So many treats!!!

Here’s one of the only pictures taken from the holiday. It’s a small handful of my nieces and nephews. Getting their picture was a bit like pulling teeth at first, but worked out towards the end.

How did you spend your Holiday weekend?

They Make it Too Easy

Seriously, I can not get enough of the Project Life app. I did the following pages over the last two days.

I can’t even begin to express my happiness. Card Packs cost between .99-1.99, Layout Packs are .99 and to have your pages printed professionally it’s only .99 per page.
Basically it’s a steal!

Scrapbook Sunday might seriously be my new favorite day of the week! 😍

Have you guys given the Project Life app a try yet? What’s your favorite way to preserve your memories?

Hello July

At the end of every month I like to sit down and make a list of goals for the next month.

It’s kinda like making New Years Resolutions. New Month Resolutions.

Last month we ran into a lot of financial troubles. Not nearly as many as April, but it was enough to make me sit down and really take a look at how we’d attack this month’s budget. So I took to Pinterest and searched for budgeting tips, and I was not prepared for the amount that I found.

  • 52 Week Savings Plan
  • 50/20/30 Budget
  • Creating a Financial Plan
  • Dave Ramsey
  • The Half Payment Method
  • You Need a Budget

Needless to say it was a little overwhelming, but with a little more research I made a decision on which way we’d go. A combination of two different 52 Week Savings Plans (one for Disney and one for our Emergency Fund), Dave Ramsey’s Baby Steps and an online software called You Need a Budget.

I obviously can’t sing the praises of these plans yet, but I plan on updating throughout this month on how things are going for us. Our mock-up budget is extremely tight, but if followed completely will end without us panicking and selling possessions or asking for funds.

Of course I made other goals for July as well. Not as many as I used to, I’m slowly discovering that too many goals equals way too much pressure leading to massive anxiety. We can’t have that. So here are the rest of my July Goals.

  • I will establish a fitness schedule. I’d like to start doing Pop Pilates again, and I need to pick at least one day a week to hit the gym. I can’t keep paying for  a membership that I’m not using. I’m also not going to weigh myself this month, it’s discouraging. This month I just want to focus on how I feel.
  • I will attempt a Photo-a-Day Challenge, and I will not quit just because I miss a day.

  • Hand Lettering. I just want to learn something new and this always sounded like fun.

What kind of things do you guys want to accomplish this month? Shout it out in the comments below!!

It’s a Rut!

I have started and stopped at least three posts now. It’s official, I’m in a rut.

My brain is all over the place, it wants to talk about 50 different things, and it can’t. Oh, and speaking of 50 things, I’m finished with our project.

We’re ending with having rid ourselves of 37/50 things. Basically what it comes down to is that I’m tired. I’m not giving up, but this project isn’t making me feel good about myself anymore. To me, that means it’s okay to end it early. So we’ll call it 38/50 things, because I’m throwing away doing things that don’t make me happy.

Then I got this crazy idea that I need to start a subscription box service, but then I realized that we’re insanely broke. This shouldn’t have taken any realization, this has been going on for awhile.

And then there was the budget, which all have to write about later because it makes me want to curl up and cry.

So to try and calm my nerves, I dug into my planner supplies and made a pretty planner page. It’s like Adult Coloring Books, this just relaxes me for some reason.

Oh and there just seems to be babies everywhere, and that might be driving my baby brain insane. So, there’s that.

Love you guys, I’m going to pull myself together and aim to have an update on that budget later tonight.
